La Maison Baldwin Partnership

Hambidge is thrilled to announce a prestigious new partnership with La Maison Baldwin, in honor of the Centennial Celebration of James Baldwin’s birth. As part of this initiative, La Maison Baldwin will place writers in residencies across the world in regions deeply connected to Baldwin’s life and legacy. We are honored that Hambidge has been selected to host four writers to be in residence together as we represent the American South in this historic project.

Participating writers will receive a 3 week Hambidge residency, a $2000 stipend, and transportation costs. This award is open to writers who identify as Black, residing anywhere in the world. Eligible writers are encouraged to apply by September 15, 2024 through our online application for Spring 2025. We look forward to welcoming a new cohort of writers as we join together in celebrating Baldwin’s enduring influence and vision.
