Nourish your creativity and connection to nature!
In this 1-day workshop, generously supported by Beech Hollow Wildflower Farm and Gardens to Love, participants will learn about the lineage of Ephemeral Art from indigenous to the present day. They will be taken through a series of exploratory exercises and techniques to gain confidence in making artworks without tools using natural materials found on site, and learn how to see any environment as a space for creative play. They will also explore photography as a method of documentation and as artful image creation with the ephemeral works created. All artworks will be left on site. Participants will learn the value and surprise of this process-based art genre, and will return home with their writings, recordings and photographic images.
Held outdoors, this workshop offers a unique creative collaboration between you and the incredible variety of natural environments and materials so often overlooked in our busy lives. It provides the time, space and inspiration for you to create works using materials and elements found on site on the day of the workshop. Shona provides a framework of ideas, and a safe and inspiring environment for you to learn to access your creativity and transport it anywhere.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Shona Wilson is a contemporary Australian sculptor, who has engaged with natural found material to create both abstract and representational 2-D assemblages and 3-D sculptures for over 20 yrs. She is the creator of the One-A-Day Ephemeral Art Project which has inspired people worldwide. Shona currently lives and works on the New South Wales mid north coast and is represented by Arthouse Gallery in Sydney and Artvisory in Melbourne, Australia.
Shona will have a two-week residency at Hambidge in October 2019 and has been awarded the Garland Distinguished Fellowship.
