Anagama Kiln Firing

  • The Hambidge Center 105 Hambidge Court Rabun Gap, GA, 30568 United States (map)

Join us for our Anagama Kiln Firing this fall. Led by Vernon Smith, ceramicists will start glazing and loading on Friday, October 21 at 9:00am. Firing will begin that evening and continue through Sunday afternoon. Unloading is the following Saturday, October 29.

Visitors are welcome to stop by and observe for free, but you must arrange your visit in advance with the Hambidge office at office@hambidge.org or 706-746-7324.

Would you like to participate as a ceramicist in one of our Anagama firings?
Interest in our anagama firings is high, so participation is determined in advance by a lottery. Three to four months before our twice-yearly firings, we announce a link to a lottery sign-up form. If you would like to be alerted via email when the next lottery sign-up sheet is offered, sign up below. The $125 participation fee includes up to 2000 cubic inches of space in the kiln, with a 1¢ per cubic inch fee for extra pieces, space permitting.
