WE HOPE TO RESCHEDULE THIS HIKE LATER IN SPRING.

On March 21, Drew Leviton will lead a fascinating birding hike. After a brief orientation, we will go walking around the property, find, and identify birds as we can. Note: this will be a casual walk rather than a strenuous hike.

Drew has been an avid birder for 50 years. He’s participated in several Audubon Society Christmas bird counts and worked with professional ornithologists in a banding program.

Participants should bring a pair of binoculars, a bird book, a smartphone with eBird on it, a water bottle, and a snack, as well as any medication they may require on a normal or emergency basis. Dress for hiking, with boots and appropriate layered clothing.

In the case of heavy rain or high winds, this hike will be cancelled.

To reserve a space for this hike, sign up here.
$5 minimum donation at the start of the hike; free for members.

Hambidge has miles of hiking trails among an incredible biodiversity of meadows, streams, waterfalls, native plants and wildflowers, and a cove forest. Nature Hikes take place most Third Saturdays. Led by experts in fields like botany, biology, ecology, geology, history, and more, each hike is a fascinating lesson about our natural world.
