Hambidge Art Hike

  • The Hambidge Center 105 Hambidge Court Rabun Gap, GA, 30568 United States (map)

Take an Art Hike with artist and Hambidge fellow, Gregor Turk, to visit “Phalanx,” his multi-mirrored installation on Hambidge’s North Carolina border. En route we'll visit Rachel K. Garceau's “graft” and Scott Hocking's “Massa Confusa,” plus take in the beautiful spring landscape and mountain laurel blooms.

Tours of the site-specific artwork in Hambidge's Outdoor Art Program are rare, so you don’t want to miss this!

With roughly 450 feet of elevation gain, be prepared for a moderate hike with some steep uphill (and downhill) climbing. The hike will last approximately 1.5 - 2 hours with stops.

There is poison ivy along some trails and mountain temperatures are variable, so please dress in layers, wearing long pants, a long-sleeved shirt and closed-toe hiking shoes or boots. Bring water, any medicines you might require, including an Epi-pen if you have severe allergic reactions, and a walking stick if needed.
