Anagama Kiln Firing

  • The Hambidge Center 105 Hambidge Court Rabun Gap, GA, 30568 United States (map)

Join us for our anagama kiln firing this spring. All potters are invited to participate in this communal firing event. Led by Vernon Smith, we will start glazing and loading on Friday, April 29th at 9:00am. Firing will begin that evening and continue through Sunday afternoon. Unloading is the following Saturday, May 7. Visitors are welcome to stop by and observe for free.

Would you like to participate as a ceramicist and fire some of your work?
Interest in our anagama firings is high, so participation is determined in advance by a lottery. Put your name in the hat by filling out our Lottery Sign-up Form by Friday, March 11.

The $125 participation fee includes up to 2000 cubic inches of space in the kiln, with a 1¢ per cubic inch fee for extra pieces, space permitting.

Note: If you simply want to attend in order to watch and learn, you may do so for free, and no registration is required.
