As one of the three oldest artist residency programs in America, Hambidge’s mission is to support the arts by providing artists the setting, the solitude and the time necessary for creativity. It pledges to • Offer a nurturing, secluded retreat for artists • Preserve Hambidge’s pristine natural environment • Provide public education through other programs

Mary Hambidge believed that art and artists are crucial to exploring, understanding, and appreciating life and creating a stronger social fabric, both nationally and internationally. To carry on this important work, Hambidge relies on the financial support of those who value the arts and their role in today’s society. Today the core of her vision is sustained and Hambidge’s contribution continues.
